Recorded Account
Received this coin from the Troop Commander of A Troop, 1-7 CAV (Apache Troop). This was during OIF 09-10. 1-7 CAV "GARRYOWEN" is a well-know Cavalry Unit in US Army history. During OIF 09-10, the Troop consisted of combined arms teams, likely consisting of Bradley Fighting Vehicles, M1A2 Abrams tanks, and air weapons teams (Kiowas / Apaches) in support of operations across the Baghdad area. APACHE ON THE WARPATH! The IRONHORSE (1st BCT, 1st CAV DIV) S2 or MICO most likely supported Apache Troop with intelligence during operations.
