Recorded Account

This was my company commander coin when I was the commander of the Military Intelligence Company for the 1st BCT, 1st Cavalry Division. A subordinate unit of the 1st Special Troops Battalion in the IRONHORSE Brigade, this company housed the majority of the intelligence Soldiers in the brigade. Although not subordinate to the BCT S2, the MICO worked very closely with the BDE S2. We deployed to OIF 09-10 and were based at Camp Taji, Iraq. The company motto was the ASSASSINS (Alpha Company) and the back of the coin represented the platoons- SIGINT, TUAV, HUMINT, and IEW. The rim of the coin has "intelligence drives maneuver" in English and Latin. My 1SG was TOP McNeil.
