Recorded Account
This is the Brigade Commander's coin for the 525th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. As the XVIII Airborne Corps' Intelligence Brigade- the unit has evolved over time- from a battlefield surveillance brigade (BfSB) to now an expeditionary intelligence brigade. Servicing multiple legacy divisions within America's Contingency Corps, to include the 82nd ABN Division, the 525 E-MI BDE continues to answer the call in crisis. Subordinate battalions are the 519th MI BN and the 319th MI BN, along with aligned battalion elements from the US Army National Guard. I served as the BDE S3 under COL James Walker from 2015-2016. I remember many exceptional MI leaders from this time- Warren Withrow, Herb Legette, Krystal Sessoms, Josh Fulmer, John Rush, Erin McEvoy, Tom Dorrel, and Gary Johnston.
