This is the 1st Special Troops Battalion coin for OIF 09-10 "CENTURIONS"- commander by COL Maria Zumwalt. 1ST STB operated at JSS War Eagle, Tarmiyah, Taji, Sadr City, Adamiya, and Istiqlal (all north of Baghdad). I relinquished command of the MICO during OIF 09-10 near the end of the deployment, with a few months left to go before re-deploying. For the remainder few months, I served as the assistant BCT S2 for the Brigade. I remember working in the SCIF and all the decorations for Christmas as the brigade closed out its last deployment to Iraq after multiple back to back to back deployments to the Baghdad area.
